SEASONAL JOBS FOR SUMMER 2017
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CAMP AND SEASONAL POSITIONS
Camp Winnebago operates a residential camp during the summer months that serves special needs clients, some children and youth, but mostly adults. Our sessions run 5 days and 4 nights weekly (Mon-Fri) from early June to early August. We hire up to 30 staff members per season as: Counselors, Program Leads in the areas of (Aquatics, Nature & Tenting, Arts & Crafts) and Music & Drama), Cabin Leads, TMA's (usually nursing students), Nurses, Kitchen staff, and Housecleaning. Most positions are paid a weekly stipend plus food and housing are provided. Camp Winnebago hires staff from all over the world for the fun summer adventures! We work closely with companies such as Camp America and Camp Leaders, hiring international staff for the summer, along with staff from Minnesota and other states.
The philosophy of Camp Winnebago is to provide a positive experience in a natural environment where our clients can further their psychological, physical, intellectual, and mental development.
We will strive to…
• See that each camper is challenged to think about his/her own interests and participate in activities
• Nurture good self-concept and good self-esteem for all, regardless of ability
• Establish a genuine love of nature, appreciation and tolerance of others, and an interest in a wide range of leisure activities
Most positions require direct interaction with campers who have a wide range of abilities, including personal care. A background check will be required of all staff. Previous experience a plus but will train. Counselors, TMA's and Leads live on site during the week and have weekends off and get the entire week of 4th of July off. Though these positions are demanding and challenging the personal rewards and experiences are equally as great with many staff returning year after year.
PAY: Please contact Camp Director, Laurie Maloney at (507) 724-2351 to discuss. Some positions are hourly while others live onsite and pay includes room & board.
