Long Range Comprehensive Site Plan
In January of 2009
the Board of Directors made an important decision to create a
long range comprehensive site plan for Camp Winnebago. The
first step in developing a site plan was to identify and
prioritize needs for the camp and our campers. This included
examining our current swimming pool, our indoor and outdoor
recreation facilities, our aging cabins, our access to
facilities, and our parking and drop off areas.
Following the
identification and prioritization of our facility needs; board
members, stakeholders, and staff worked with HSR Architects Inc.
out of La Crosse, Wisconsin, to develop a wonderful site plan
which includes new buildings, a new zero-entrance pool, trails,
sidewalks, campsites, and expanded and new recreational
areas/facilities. The comprehensive site plan focuses on the
needs of our campers and will provide them with quality social,
educational, and recreational experiences in the future.
Campers, caregivers, board members and staff are excited about
having this vision for the future and a plan that will help
drive facility and budget decisions.
Below, in three
separate downloadable PDF’s, are drawings of Camp Winnebago’s
current facilities, future planned facilities for the entire
camp, and detailed future plans for the upper camp area.
Updates on the process and progress of the Comprehensive Site
Plan, including timelines and facility priorities, will be
posted on this page. For more information on the long range
facility needs of the camp, contact the camp office at
